Words from friends

Bonnie, I can’t let the day end without taking time to thank you for your significant role in the music ministry at ACP. In my opinion, you have one of the more significant positions on the church staff: preparing our children and youth to lead worship, and to offer their musical gifts to God with excellence. Today’s service is a prime example. Your choirs were well prepared, attentive to your leadership, and musically excellent. I was mesmerized by how beautiful each anthem was. I loved the way you placed Shine singers in a circle for “What Wondrous Love Is This.” The sound was exquisite. The Children’s Choir and handbells were a delight in “God is Speaking.” You get such a beautiful pure sound from the children. You have a gift of working with young voices. You certainly made worship a memorable and spiritual experience for me today. My thanks to you and the children/youth of ACP for enriching today’s service. Appreciatively, Bruce (Bruce Morgan, Visiting Pastor, American Church in Paris Feb. 25 2013)
Anne-Marie
I’m a member of several choirs, and I can say that singing under Bonnie’s direction brings you something special, in the sense that she takes our whole personality into account, including our unique characteristics, which she has a talent for recognizing. So in singing, I like to think that we are creating a musical lacework which only she knows how to weave and what it will look like when it’s finished. Anne-Marie
Corine C.
I’ve been working for a while already with Bonnie. The classical singing lessons I’ve had have mostly focused on vocal technique, without necessarily taking the rest of the body into consideration. Bonnie approaches the voice in a wholly different way, more globally. Her work on re-balancing and re-centering energy, on relaxation, posture, was surprising at first. But I realize that this work is beginning to bear fruit, my voice has improved, or rather, I am beginning to love it. And there is such a feeling of well-being after every session! Corine C.

What Bonnie has given me, essentially, is confidence and the ability to project a voice I didn’t believe I had. Her technique is backed by an enthusiasm that is, to tell the truth, difficult to resist. Monique O.
Aline V.
Bonnie has worked with and directed my choir classes and the students have never forgotten it. With her communicative enthusiasm, dynamic energy and professionalism, they were irresistibly brought into osmosis. Thank you for your remarkable work. Aline V.
My three children, age 16, 12 and 9, sing in the Youth Music Program at the American Church in Paris, under the direction of Bonnie Woolley. They have learned a great deal from Bonnie, not only about singing but about music in general. Bonnie’s approach is global, and she takes the time to get to know each child so as to bring out the best in each one. Her energy and her enthusiasm are contagious. In our home, Wednesday is the best day of the week because it’s choir day with Bonnie! Patrice Carlean-Jones, mother of Heloïse, Isabelle and Philippe.
Ines (14 ans)
I’ve had the privilege of singing with Bonnie since I was 7 years old, in the choirs at the American Church. Her way of teaching, her smile and her encouragement made Wednesday my favorite day of the week. Ines (14 years old)
